Welcome all! Reaching out for support can feel daunting, I am so glad you have taken the first step on your healing journey by seeking out support. My name is Gloria, I am a first-generation Chicana, and I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating processing and coping with complex-trauma and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey navigating anxiety, depression, life-transitions, suicidal ideation, grief/loss, relationship conflict, exploration of identities, challenges with self-worth, and more.

I previously worked as a Resource Specialist Educator in South Los Angeles, where I taught neurodivergent students. As an educator, I believed in utilizing a trauma-informed approach to empower students through positive reinforcement and by collaboratively creating goals to foster autonomy.  I actively considered the intersectionality of their identity to utilize culturally relevant and accessible material.

At The Trevor Project national crisis line for LGBTQIA+ young people, I supervised counselors providing crisis counseling. I supported counselors to provide inclusive and affirming services where we assess suicidal ideation, collaboratively create strong safety plans, and search for appropriate resources. In escalated crisis situations, we collaborated with emergency services and mobile crisis units for interventions and long-term care.

In my role as a clinician, I will utilize a trauma-informed integrative approach, where we balance fostering insight into how your past influences your present distress and coping. My interventions will be responsive to your individual presenting concerns and distress, and I aim to empower you with knowledge, mindfulness-based coping skills, and resources to support you on your journey. I aim to co-create an affirming and empowering space for all parts of your intersectional identity, where you can explore your lived experience and values in order to strengthen your ability to cope with life’s challenges as your most authentic self. I actively work from a critical race and feminist lens, meaning I aim to affirm how larger systems of oppression are contributing to your distress. I aim to make therapy accessible and relevant for historically marginalized communities, if my approach resonates with you, please reach out via e-mail to schedule a free consultation. Seeking support is an extremely vulnerable and exhausting process. If we are not the right fit, I would be happy to provide referrals to support you on your journey.
